Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School — Book Puzzle Guide

Solve Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School's bookstore locks with the EUREKA cipher, eye-color shapes and lockpick arrows, then buy and collect the books.

Quick answer

For Better Book It, enter EUREKA for Ciphers from B to A, match Hiding and Seeking's eye colors to their shapes, and use up, left, up, down, left, up, down for A Book of Lockpicks. Budget nine Escape Bucks, then buy and collect all three books after opening their displays. Read the Lockpicks arrows in the yellow author name LARKINY LENZINI, left to right across its two lines.

Find the Better Book It displays

Go to the bookstore on the first floor beyond the courtyard. Better Book It asks you to obtain three books, each behind a glass display with its own puzzle. The location and display setup are documented by GameSpew and the recorded demo's bookstore sequence.

Choose the solution by the book's title. These locks use different clue types: a letter shift, a color-to-shape match and a directional sequence. The individual instructions below preserve that distinction.

Bring enough Escape Bucks

Budget three Escape Bucks per textbook, nine in total. These are in-game funds, not a real-money purchase. The captured guides describe three Escape Bucks in your locker and additional money obtainable through pickups or extra-credit assignments. Book prices and locker money and orientation budget.

If you cannot afford all three, collect available money or complete extra-credit tasks before finishing the purchases. Unlocking a display does not remove its purchase step. ScreenHype's bookstore instructions.

Solve Ciphers from B to A

Read FVSFLB on the book. Move each letter back one place: F → E, V → U, S → R, F → E, L → K and B → A. Together they spell EUREKA, the display's word-lock answer. Cipher method.

Enter EUREKA, then buy and collect the book. A separate recording around 42:12 also identifies Eureka during the bookstore section. The title's B-to-A instruction explains the backward shift rather than a forward substitution.

Solve Hiding and Seeking

Inspect the eyes on the front cover and identify the shapes they look toward. Match each eye's color to the corresponding color on the display lock. The documented English example is:

Lock colorShape
GreenSquare
BrownDiamond
BlueTriangle
YellowCircle

Apply each shape to its matching colored position, rather than treating the table as an unlabeled dial sequence. Open the display, then buy and collect the book. These assignments appear in GameSpew's guide and the demo recording at 33:55–34:14.

Solve A Book of Lockpicks

Enter the documented direction sequence:

  1. Up
  2. Left
  3. Up
  4. Down
  5. Left
  6. Up
  7. Down

Then buy and collect the book. The complete sequence appears in GameSpew and succeeds in the independent recording at 46:41–46:49.

Where are the hidden arrows?

Inspect the yellow author name LARKINY LENZINI above the white title A Book of Lockpicks. Read the arrow shapes hidden in and between the yellow letters from left to right across both lines. The left arrow between K and I is easy to miss; include it rather than entering only the obvious vertical arrows.

This location is visible in the launch-period close-up at 49:17, matching GameSpew's author-name explanation. ScreenHype calls this lettering the title, but the recorded cover separates the yellow author name from the white title. Follow the visible author lettering and the seven-input sequence above.

Finish the purchases

Follow every display through unlocking, buying and collecting its contents. An open case is not the final step of the documented task. The demo recording at 34:14–34:29 explicitly distinguishes opening cases from buying the books, corroborating the written walkthrough.

Book puzzle questions

Which book contains the letter cipher?

Ciphers from B to A uses FVSFLB and the backward-one-letter rule. A Book of Lockpicks uses a directional sequence instead. Both identifications appear in the bookstore walkthrough.

Why are the cases open but I still need the books?

Unlocking and purchasing are separate actions. Buy and collect the contents after solving each lock, using the in-game budget above. The purchase footage shows the distinction.

Scope

These are source-backed solutions for the three opening bookstore displays and their English clues. The author-lettering location is checked against launch-period footage; that recording does not show an exact patch-build number. These are not universal answers for later library puzzles.
