Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School — Demo Walkthrough
Use Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School demo footage carefully: follow documented opening checkpoints and understand the October update's version limits.
Quick answer
The recorded older demo covers the classroom, orientation and bookstore, ending after the headmaster directs the player toward the roof. Use PATH for the backpack and EUREKA for the bookstore cipher. The STAY AWAY rooftop answer and tower help below extend the route using launch guides. The October demo update changed clues in two rooms, so check your installed version.

Check the demo version before following a recording
Steam lists a separate downloadable demo. The older demo recording identifies itself as demo footage, but does not prove that every clue or endpoint matches the refreshed download. Find the demo through the official Steam listing.
The developer's October 16, 2026 notes report performance and localization fixes, removal of end-of-demo save wiping, and UX/clue updates in A Clued Awakening and That Rings a Bell. These are developer-reported changes, not independently tested results. This English-interface route is a reference for the recorded opening; exact refreshed-demo coverage, its endpoint and a guaranteed save-transfer outcome remain unverified. Official demo update.
Use the classroom as your first checkpoint
The recorded opening shows PATH opening the backpack at approximately 3:18–3:50. Follow the desk coordinates X2 Y2 → X3 Y2 → X3 Y4 → X1 Y4, then enter the letters they provide. Collect the projector still from the backpack. Compare the demo recording with the written classroom solution.
Collect the other stills through these interactions:
- Pick up the key from the classroom poster and use it on the rear chest.
- Read the noticeboard times and press coffee → musical notes → jigsaw → workshop tools → eye.
- Look through the revealed eyehole, read 772, and dial it on the classroom phone.
- Collect the still revealed by the phone interaction.
Use the projector and founders portrait to match faces and names with card symbols on the exit device. The classroom guide and GameSpew walkthrough document these actions. The opening campaign guide explains the same matching method alongside the full classroom sequence; read the projected names and portrait symbols in your game when completing the exit device.
Follow orientation to the bookstore
Speak to Solange for the orientation tasks and locker key. Find your own portrait, read its student number, and use that number to identify your locker. The older demo recording around 10:29–11:39 shows the orientation handoff, while GameSpew explains the portrait-to-locker match.
For the dorm corridor, the documented English solution is 346: spade → heart → club corresponds to three, four and six symbols. The launch recording at 34:00–34:46 corroborates that answer, without establishing identical presentation in every older demo. Once through, use your student number to find your dorm, as described by GameSpew.
Next, go to the bookstore beyond the courtyard. Its three locked displays contain the Better Book It books. The documented English answers are EUREKA for the backward-letter cipher, color-matched shapes for Hiding and Seeking, and up → left → up → down → left → up → down for A Book of Lockpicks. Written bookstore solutions.
Use the book puzzle article for the shape table, arrow sequence and author-lettering explanation. Budget nine Escape Bucks for all three books: the guides describe collecting money and completing extra-credit assignments to cover the purchases. Orientation budget.
After unlocking the cases, buy and collect the books. The demo recording around 34:14–34:29 explicitly distinguishes opening the cases from purchasing their contents, corroborating the written route.
Continue beyond the recording with launch guides
The older demo recording at 38:44–39:09 reaches the headmaster's rooftop instruction and then announces the demo's end. It does not show solving the rooftop word lock. The following instructions extend that recorded coverage using launch-oriented written guides.
After the purchases, visit the third-floor headmaster's office and answer the phone. It directs you to the rooftop. Enter STAY AWAY on the English rooftop word lock, or use the rooftop article to understand the stairwell clues first. The transition is documented by ScreenHype, and the answer is corroborated by Insider Gaming.
For That Rings a Bell, use the tower mechanism reference and compare the objects and labels you actually see. The developer specifically included that room among the October demo's clue updates. An older recording's presentation is therefore not a sufficient version check by itself. Official update notes.
Demo questions
Are the older videos still useful?
They document the older route and several opening interactions. Compare the two updated rooms with your screen rather than expecting a frame-for-frame match. The demo patch notes identify those rooms and the reported changes.
Will the demo still wipe my save at the end?
The October 16 notes say end-of-demo save wiping was removed. That is the developer's stated change, not an independent guarantee about a particular installation or successful save transfer. Official announcement.
Should I use this article for the full campaign?
Use the campaign opening guide for the launch-oriented opening sequence. This page keeps the recorded demo route and its version boundaries visible, rather than claiming complete campaign coverage.
